• Trompe L’Oeil

What is it? Qu’est-ce-que c’est?

In art, trompe l'oeil is defined as a 'still life deception', a painting able to make the viewer believe that an object actually exists in 3D space, in relief. It also means illusion, a deceptive appearance, eye-wash or camouflage, in short 'Fool the eye'!

Windows

A series of projects, mostly for interiors with trompe l'oeil windows as the main focus, often incorporated within faux-finish walls and surrounded by other decorative elements.

More Windows

Another series of windows, doors or facades with windows incorporating architectural elements. This series of project is more eclectic in style, many project featured here are for outdoor facades.

Vignettes

Examples of ornamental elements, faux bas-relief, trompe l'oeil sculptures, as well as an indoor mural incorporating objects in niches.

The Rose & Crown, a Trompe l'Oeil Facade

Storefront for an English pub on Emerson Street in Palo Alto, Ca. The client was faced with a plain facade and a side entry. Now the trompe l'oeil mural has given it visibility.
